Rape - Don't punish it, prevent it !

What problems could threaten the integrity of a developing nation in the 21st century ? Poverty ? Corruption ? Inequality ? At present, these are not the issues that is troubling the biggest democracy in the World the most. Instead, it is men's age old disease called lust that is the rocking the boat this country is sailing on.

Over the past few months, this lust has manifested in many different forms across the lengths and breadths of this country. The disease has consumed the flesh of its victims with a grin on its face. It has poisoned the souls of many and destroyed the lives of many more. It hasn't even spared our children.

Sought after for long is a cure for this disease. But with no breakthroughs after so many years, it has only grown more vicious and contagious. The steep rise in the number of lives it affects and the brutality with which it strikes has us all wondering what has gone wrong?

The ever "responsible" media offers a cure. The death penalty !

Do they really want a cure? No, they just want to sell and sensationalism sells.

So, can we turn to the politicians(so-called leaders) for a cure ? No. The agents of the disease can never be its cure. So, it is upon me and you to find a way to fight this crime. Before we do that, let us see how this deadly disease turns into a brutal crime.

Non-compliance with nature:
----------------------------------
Study shows that a human body, physically, is ready for sex at the age of about fourteen. At this age, a craving for sex begins. But in a country like India where, by virtue, people refrain from intercourse until marriage, the experience of sex is not had until late twenties. For many, there is a long gap between when they learn sex and they have sex. Late marriages which are commonplace these days are to be blamed.

Until a few decades ago, our ancestors got married at a much lower age than we get married today. Men got married before twenty and women before fifteen. They were exposed to sex much earlier than we do today. They never got to a stage where the desire for sex turned into a craving.

However, these days, we deem ourselves unfit emotionally and mentally for early marriage and due to this, like a thirst not quenched, like a hunger not satisfied, the desire for sex grows beneath the flesh of our minds unnoticed to only burst out violently one day.

Shows that when we try to master nature, we bring doom upon ourselves.

Keeping sex a mystery:
---------------------------
Most of us never understand sex.  Yes, we are never taught about it. We are not allowed to talk about it. This forbiddance had created mystery in our minds and has certainly increased our craving. Sex education, which is the study of life, is never a part of any curriculum.

Instead, how are we introduced to sex ? Most of the times through porn. Which doesn't teach us sex, but sexual abuse.

When we see sex as just a means of pleasure, it becomes abuse. Sex is simply a means to sustain life. Sex with lust is abuse. Sex with love is life.

Intoxication:
---------------
When mind rules matters, it makes. But when matters rule mind, it kills. Alcohol and drugs are such matters which can turn the most gracious men into savage beasts. More often that not, a crime is committed under influence.

When we become slaves to tyrants, we can only blame ourselves for pawning our lives to them.

So to keep us and our friends from falling prey to this disease, learn and teach three things.
1) Let nature be the master !
2) Teach, talk and learn sex !
3) Stay away from intoxicants !
But, we still haven't gotten to the cure. What could that be?

Every crime must be fought with fear. What keeps a fiend away from a crime is not the punishment, but the fear of it. For a punishment to serve its purpose, it must get more severe not brutal. it must be unrelenting but not savage.

In modern justice system, the highest punishment is the death penalty. It is brutal. It is savage. But not severe. For this very reason, it is not going to work. So what kind of punishments should be awarded to the criminals.

It might sound silly, nonetheless it is effective. That is the reason why our ancestors used them as effective weapons to combat crime.
1) Brand the criminal on the forehead. Make his/her identity public.
2) Excommunicate the criminal and his/her family. In the fight again crime, nothing serves better than       disgrace.
3) Isolate the criminal for life.

Though in most cases victims have nothing to do with the crime, they sometimes unwittingly provoke the criminal. Please be careful as not to do it. This is my last word of caution.

Rape is a crime that I would rather see it prevented than punished.
